Pub Groups Supporting Tenants and Franchisees with Profit-Saving Tool
Pub tenants and franchisees across Wadworth, Punch, Everards, Stonegate and Shepherd Neame are receiving a welcome boost - a fully funded tool that is helping sites save up to £3,100 a year by eradicating energy waste.
Developed by the Zero Carbon Company, the Energy and Carbon Reduction Tool helps publicans identify where energy is being wasted by using their own site's data and highlights simple actions they can take to reduce costs quickly, often at no cost.
The initial rollout to 525 sites in England was funded by the Department for Energy Security and Net Zero (DESNZ). With more than 40,000 pubs across the UK, leading pub groups are now extending access to more tenants and franchisees, helping local pubs keep more of the money they earn.
The tool’s survey is quick and easy to use, identifying immediate savings from reducing food and energy waste by making small operational changes that require little or no capital investment.
"It's no secret that many pubs are struggling under the weight of taxes, rates and rising costs, so it’s good that leading pub groups are making this support available to more tenants and franchisees. The results show that some of the biggest savings come from simple changes. On average, individual sites are saving up to £3,100 a year. That’s the equivalent of selling thousands of extra pints."
